Amazing sisters in second spot

SINGAPORE: Dark horses Pamela and Vanessa Chong did Malaysia proud when they emerged second in the final leg of reality show The Amazing Race Asia 2.

The sisters were pipped by Singaporeans Adrian Yap and Collin Low who grabbed the US$100,000 (RM350,000) prize money, but were ahead of the strongest duo of the race Rovilson Fernandez and Marc Nelson of the Philippines.

“We actually feel that we won the race because we beat Rovilson and Marc,” said Vanessa, 29.

”It was a tough competition and as girls we are very proud of making it to the finals,” said Pamela, 24.

The Amazing Race Asia is an Asian version of the Emmy-award winning The Amazing Race. The show requires contestants to complete a series of tasks in various parts around the world and the last team to finish the challenges will be eliminated from the race.

This time, the contestants raced through Asia, Australasia, Europe and Africa – clocking in over 50,000km in just 24 days.

Last year, Malaysians Zabrina Fernandez and Tee Joe Jer made history when they became the first female team to win the competition which ended in Malaysia .
