Dr M prepared to meet ACA

KUALA LUMPUR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he was prepared to meet the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) to assist in the case of the video clip showing a senior lawyer brokering the appointment of judges.

“If they call, I'll go,” he told reporters after signing the condolence book for former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto at the Pakistan High Commission here.

He was asked whether the ACA would call him for further information over the video clip.

On Dec 22, three ACA officers interviewed Dr Mahathir at the Perdana Leadership Foundation office in Putrajaya in connection with the probe into the controversial video clip.

The government has set up a six-member Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate whether there was any misconduct by anyone identified in the video clip.

Earlier, Dr Mahathir said he was saddened by Bhutto's death and expressed hope that calm could be restored in Pakistan soon.
